So. Have you had enough? Do you want to run screaming from my blog, ears covered, pretending like it's all just a bad dream? Do you? Really?
I do.
My Momma was admitted to the hospital last night.
She had called me earlier in the day complaining about some severe abdominal pain... I was concerned about her, especially since she was leaving work early. She takes her job really seriously. She's the Office Manager AND Ultrasound Technician for a really busy Midwife practice locally. Lucky for her, the Midwives are family to us, and totally understood that she wasn't well...
Just before Idol came on last night I called over to my parents house to make sure she was OK. There was no answer...
I called again 10 minutes later.
Then I tried my Dad's cell phone...
Then I tried the house again...14 more times...
Obsess much? I was a bit frantic. I was convinced that there was something terribly wrong. Knowing that my Mom hadn't been feeling well, I was incredibly worried. I was trying to figure out the last name of my parent's neighbor, when I decided I would just call the hospital.
That's when my Dad finally called. My Mom was in fact in the hospital... They suspected that it was her appendix that was giving her trouble, and they were running some tests... I breathed a deep sigh of relief and told my Dad to call me as soon as he knew anything. I waited a little while and then headed to bed, where visions of a terrible diagnosis raced through my head.
Thankfully my Dad called me back at 1230a and let me know that it was simply appendicitis and that they would be performing an appendectomy first thing in the AM. Not to worry because Mom was resting comfortably...
This morning my Momma is out of surgery and feeling much better... The pain is gone, and she's feeling wonderfully groggy. They are hoping to be able to send her home later today...
So God...Is there anything else? Anything else you want to test us with? I'm just wondering... Because while I love surprises, I typically love the type of surprises that come in the form of flowers, and candy... Small wrapped packages... This stuff??
It's for the birds man.
Oh my goodness!!
I hope you have a really boring couple of months coming your way very soon! Glad your mom is doing well.

Please give your momma my love and tell her I hope she feels better soon...I sometimes call the midwives office just to check on her and see what she's up to.
Tell her to milk it for all it's worth. :)
